The Book Itself as a PDF
No one has a book on the simple application of handicaps to sailboat races. So I wrote one. The book isn’t complete, but then I doubt it ever will be. Nonetheless it is still worth a read in its current state.
The book is 150 pages long and formatted decently so it is quite readable. Algebra is littered throughout the book, but in the early sections it is very approachable and should be accessible to anyone who hasn’t completely forgotten their basic grade school and high school mathematics.
The latter parts of the book, that deal with computing performance handicaps, require a more sophisticated mathematical education.
Miscellanea from SPSC
I also wrote the following documents for SPSC’s web site. They are quite old but are related.
